During the period from 18–20 May 2026, the Republic of North Macedonia hosted the 11th Forum of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

Within the framework of the Forum, under the Presidency of the Republic of North Macedonia, a session on audit and control was held on 18 May 2026 with representatives of the Audit Authorities from the region, as well as representatives from the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO).

During this session, discussions focused on the challenges that Audit Authorities are expected to face in the post-2027 period, the lessons learned from previous audits of IPA funds, as well as the need for broader cooperation between Audit Authorities and the Member States of the European Union.
