Today, at the offices of the European Union in Skopje, a meeting was held between the General IPA Auditor Mr. Adem Curri and his Excellency, the EU Ambassador Mr. David Geer. At the meeting, they discussed the further steps of the work of the Audit Authority for the period of IPA 2, as well as the challenges of IPA 3. The Ambassador also complimented the work of AA, and stressed that we are leaders in the Balkans, in terms of the methodology and quality of the submitted reports. Further unreserved support from the DEU was also expressed in terms of strengthening the capacities of AA, in terms of digitization of operations and various forms of training with other countries

Also, the Head of Cooperation in the EU Delegation to RNM, Mr. Steffen Hudolin, agreed on the further steps on how to conduct the accreditation processes of the new IPA 3 programs

The General IPA Auditor Curri, thanked for the unreserved support of the DEU, as well as expressed readiness for commitment to improving the capacities of the IPA structure in the country

Аudit Authority will continue to strengthen its capacities and provide high level of competency and effectiveness in carrying out audits in accordance with the EU regulation and internationally accepted auditing standards.

At the Forum, General Auditor met with:

- Viola Ahmerd, President of Swiss Confederation;

- Lukas Engelberger, Vice President of the Government Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt;

- Ambassador Patricia Danzi, Director General Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Anti-corruption as main pillar of peace and security - Swiss Institute for Enterprneurship (SIFE) - new iniciative with MSc Eleonor Jehan.

The General IPA Аuditor met the employee dr. Sherif Abdullahi, Senior Auditor, Cross-Border-Cooperation section at the Audit Authority for IPA, who participated and successfully completed the Intensive Programme in European Law and Economics, training on the legal, economic, and political functioning of the European Union for professionals from the European Neighbourhood Policy Countries and territories, the Western Balkans and Central Asia at Riga Graduate School of Law, financed by the Latvian MFA & the U.S. State Department, фor which he also received a certificate for successfully completing specialization in European Law and Economics. In addition, a study visits to Brussels for in-person meetings with the European Parliament, the European Commission, European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), the European Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, and other EU institutions was part of the program.

On December 9, the International Day for the Prevention of Corruption, General Auditor of Audit Authority for IPA mr. Adem Curri, signed agreement with the Director General of the European Anti Fraud Office – OLAF, Ville Italla, with which we became the only institution in the region that concretized all formal steps for preserving the interests of the community. On 30.11.2023, in the live TV broadcast - 360 Stepeni (360^о)airing recurrently on the Macedonian Radio and Television - MRT, an interview was screened with Mr. Adem Curri - the General IPA Auditor of the Audit Authority for audit of IPA Funds

During the program, Mr. Curri was elaborating the challenges that the IPA Structure in the Republic of North Macedonia faces, due to the lack of the administrative capacity of the State, required for absorption of the pre-accessions Funds of EU.

In the TV program were presented, the key reasons of non-utilized IPA Funds as a whole, as well as the lack of human resources in the IPA structures to fulfil its objectives. The Funds assigned for the State to utilize as a pre-accession Funds of EU and have a strict and bounding regulations for their utilization as well as separate procedures for continuous verification for legal and proper use of the funds by the Audit Authority for audit of IPA funds. The General IPA Auditor stated that the issues and challenges that the IPA Structure faces against, can be addressed by creating a Policy of motivation and retention of the professional staff, and are officially noted by conclusions of the conducted audits by the Audit Authority for Audit of IPA Funds. The Joint Monitoring Committee of the IPA CBC Programme Kosovo - North Macedonia 2021 - 2027 year, organized the first meeting of the new IPA III programming period. The JMC members, representing institutions from Kosovo and North Macedonia, approved the Annual Implementation Report 2023 and the Annual Working Plan and Communication Plan for 2024.

The meeting was also accompanied by a workshop delivered by the Joint Technical Secretariat of the programme on topis such as: IPA III legal framework, Financial Agreements, programme portfolio and regional monitoring system. Programme funded by the European Union
